JOB TITLE:

Operations Manager (Clearing, Forwarding, Airline Reservation & Ticketing)

 

JOB LOCATION:

Sekondi-Takoradi, Western Region - Ghana

 

JOB SUMMARY

  • This position is responsible for providing leadership and direction for the clearing and forwarding activities of the company. This role directly supervises multiple personnel to maximize productivity. He/she shall report to the Managing Director of the company.



JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Handle all development and operational activities of global air, sea freight forwarding and clearing business.
  • Develop network of partners and subsidiaries.
  • Managing all forwarding/clearing operations activities.
  • Responsible for achieving departmental productivity goals.
  • To plan and develop the systems and procedures to improve the operations quality and efficiency of the division.
  • Monitoring the Custom Clearance procedures and ensuring to build a strong relationships with various governmental organizations and represents the company in a professional manner, including making presentations.
  • To set individual accountability and goals and to give recommendations for the internal promotions. Other related responsibility or administrative duties.
  • Manage, control and supervise the activities of the Clearing and Forwarding operations staff.
  • Monitor payments of debit notes (shipping and terminal).
  • Deal with customs queries where the clearing staff cannot resolve same.
  • Report daily activities use personal judgment and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles in the clearing process.
  • Agree on costs and disbursements to carry out clearing.
  • Check and verify shipping records, handle questions or concerns of shipping shortages or overages and address problems with inventory control.
  • Ensure proper compliance and adherence to all appropriate regulations, policies and laws.
  • Consistently promote a strong corporate culture, quality and high performance work teams.
  • Bringing sales of all products such as warehousing, local distribution. Airfreight, sea freight and road transport.
  • Perform regular visits to qualified prospects and customers, in accordance with Managements directives, to drive the business and grow the company’s revenue, market share and profitability.
  • Submit reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Oversee the activities of the Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Department and any other duties assigned by the Managing Director.



QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENT

  • BSc / HND in Business Administration or Shipping Management.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a large organization, 5 years of which should be at Management level.
  • Strong initiative and leadership skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical and problem solving business and entrepreneurial spirit Proficiency in computer use and multimedia applications.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Customs and Excise HS Code and Explanatory notes and ability to handle Inspection Agents, Banks.
  • Shipping Companies and Terminals.
  • Must be driven and ready to work round the clock to meet deadlines.
  • Possess experience in Clearing & Forwarding operations and management with good knowledge in shipping documents and custom procedures.
  • Have relevant experience in the market place with a strong business development background.
  • Have a good detailed understanding on the market trends and demand.
  • Demonstrate the ability to take initiative and responsibility.
  • Confident, well spoken with excellent communication skills.

Reservation and Ticketing Officer

 

JOB LOCATION:

JOB SUMMARY

  • This position is responsible for providing Reservations, Ticketing & Transport arrangement activities of the company. This role directly supervises multiple junior personnel to maximize productivity. He / She shall report to the Operations manager of the company



JOB DESCRIPTION

  • General Administrative Role.
  • Handling ticketing & reservations for customers.
  • Fair experience with dealings in hotel reservation.
  • Carry out all follow up procedures pertaining to customer travel, i.e. reconfirmation of airline tickets, tour confirmation, booking/reservation etc.
  • Maximize sales and revenues by booking and ticketing return journeys, selling holiday packages and other travel related products and services.



QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENT

  • A minimum of a Diploma required.
  • At least 1-3 years working experience.
  • Must be IATA certified
  • Candidates with no experience in Aviation industry or travel and tour firm need not apply
  • Good communication skills

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Develop logistics along with support plans, budget requirements and deployment timelines for new operations.
  • Develop logistical plans for current operations and logistics contingency plans.
  • Develop and execute tools and methodologies to enable effective implementation of logistic plans.
  • Design and develop standard operating methods to manage logistics operations efficiently.
  • Ensure accountable, timely and cost-effective release of peacekeeping cargos along with personnel.
  • Ensure all supervised staff members are trained as well as cross-trained adequately.
  • Identify added logistic training requirements to attain high working standards.
  • Coordinate and present logistics support to ongoing land, air, rail and river operations.
  • Ensure logistics requirements take gender-specific needs into consideration.
  • Coordinate logistics activities related to procurement, funding, substantive units and humanitarian affairs.
  • Develop and execute logistics support policy, processes and methodologies to general benefit of all mission units.
  • Develop reports on material and personnel movements and various operational logistics problems.
  • Guide and oversee performance of new and junior logistics officers.
